Peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) thickness and birefringence in MS patients. The MS patients with normal pRNFL thickness range formed a subject group using PS-OCT measured 78 μm as a cut off of pRNFL. These MS patients did not show a difference of pRNFL thickness compared to their paired controls (a, P > 0.05). In contrast, the PR/UD showed significant decreases in the inferior quadrant and the entire circle compared to their paired controls, respectively (b, P < 0.05)
