Table 2 HR-OCT findings of conjunctival lymphoma, conjunctival amyloidosis and benign reactive lymphoid hyperplasia

From: The use of high resolution anterior segment optical coherence tomography for the characterization of conjunctival lymphoma, conjunctival amyloidosis and benign reactive lymphoid hyperplasia

Lesion

Epithelial Layer

Subepithelial Layer

Conjunctival Lymphoma

Normal

Subepithelial lesion that is hyporeflective, homogenous, with smooth borders containing monomorphic dot-like infiltrates bordered superiorly and inferiorly by a hyperreflective band underneath the epithelium of variable thickness

Conjunctival Amyloidosis

Normal

Subepithelial lesion that is heterogeneous with irregular borders containing hyperreflective linear opacities

Benign Reactive Lymphoid Hyperplasia

Normal

Variably reflective subepithelial tissue

No hyperreflective band seen underneath the epithelium in paucicellular cases but present in hypercellular cases
